Vosne-Romanée, famous the world over for its Grand Crus, also produces some Premier Crus capable of competing with the best. The Premier Cru vineyard of “Les Suchots” is recognised as being the prime candidate for any potential elevation in the appellation of Vosne-Romanée to Grand Cru status. It is located just to the north of the greats such as “Romanée Saint-Vivant” and “La Romanée Conti”.

Frank Follin inherited vines originally under the control of the Louis Latour empire, he has been making sublime wines of concentration, purity and complexity. All of his vines from Aloxe-Corton, Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Romanée St Vivant are tended by hand and respectfully protected from any form of insecticide or pesticide, each betraying individuality, polish and great purity.

The Vosne Romanee 1’er cru – Cuvee Duvault-Blochet – is a blend the grand cru vineyards in Vosne Romanee. The grapes are from the second pass trough in the vineyards, collecting grapes not fully ripe on the first pass trough. The 2009 edition of the cuvee Duvault-Blochet is a very open and charming wine.
