Dugat-Py is (was) probably the true heir to Jayer’s philosophy of super ripe grapes, 100% new oak, modern style Burgundy. This Coeur de Roy exemplifies this by showing a very dark colour with a somewhat dumbed nose, the oak is covering it but not tainting it. Forest floor, black tea, black fruits, tar, smoke, the nose is a block.
